The Section 125 Cafeteria Plan
Under the Wellness Pro structure, each enrolled employee makes a pre-tax salary reduction election through the §125 Cafeteria Plan before the start of the plan year. This election reduces their gross wages for purposes of federal income tax, state income tax, and FICA- producing immediate, measurable savings on every paycheck.
Medical Expense Reimbursement
IRC §105(b) authorizes employers to reimburse employees for medical expenses — as defined under §213(d) — on a tax-free basis, provided those reimbursements are made through a qualifying employer-sponsored plan.
