Does this replace our current health insurance?
No. Wellness Pro is a fully standalone supplement that sits alongside your existing coverage. Your current plan stays in place, untouched. Employees keep everything they already have and gain additional benefits on top.
What does it cost the employer?
Zero new cost. Wellness Pro is structured so that the savings it generates, through reduced payroll tax liability, cover the program. Employers typically save more than the program costs.
Is this compliant with ACA and IRS regulations?
Yes. Wellness Pro is built on IRS-recognized frameworks — specifically IRC §125 Cafeteria Plans and IRC §105/106 medical reimbursement provisions. Wilson Hand manages ongoing compliance documentation and supports clients through any audit process.
What if an employee doesn’t use the wellness features?
The employer still captures the payroll tax savings. Employees do need to complete at least one qualifying wellness activity per quarter to maintain the plan’s tax treatment; the health platform makes this simple to track.
Do we need to already have group health insurance?
Yes. Wellness must be paired with an existing ACA-compliant group health plan. Wilson Hand will confirm eligibility when you submit your payroll census. The free eligibility report covers this as part of the analysis.
